The HBACA is actively engaged with state, county and municipally elected officials and their staff to ensure your  voice is heard.  The Association agressively works to create a regulatory environment that is fair and predictable for the homebuilding and development industry.  Our efforts have resulted in landmark legislative successes and regulatory actions that creates a better, more predictable business environment for your business.

Growth in outlying areas of Maricopa and Pinal County require that we stay focused and maintain our presence with both these counties. Our activities with Maricopa and Pinal Counties have helped to improve processes and turnaround timelines, dust control issues and an active role within the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG).

The HBACA's Municipal Affairs team works day and night to create more consistent and predictable processes for our members. On behalf of, and with the active involvement of our members, we actively work with elected officials and professional staff to influence direction and offer solutions in a range of areas including development impact fees, planning and building safety fees, encouraging consistency in adoption of building codes, residential design standards, decreasing processing time, stopping costly mandates that homebuyers do not want and, in several instances, returning to our members thousands of dollars in fees unfairly or incorrectly assessed by cities.

The HBACA works with members to identify, assess and respond to policies or proposals such as mandated design elements that impact homebuilders’ ability to offer workforce housing.  We fight to keep homes within reach of working families while meeting homebuyer's demand for value in quality neighborhoods.
